Every path hides a truth. Some truths refuse to stay buried.

A crime novel of suspicion, hidden motives, and the long road back to what actually happened. Inspired by real events.

Treacherous Path

Crime novel · Psychological thriller · A debut novel and the first in a series.

A woman vanishes without explanation.

A hunting party finds a severed finger in the forest, a gold ring still on it. The detective who takes the case believes he is investigating a murder. He is wrong.

As the search moves deeper into the Oak Ridge Mountains, the clues begin to contradict one another. Witnesses hold things back. Old loyalties outrank the truth. A respected physician, an estranged husband, and people with a great deal to lose form a puzzle whose pieces refuse to fit together.

Years later, the case is reopened, unearthing questions someone had good reason to bury.
